Things to do
Badgers Sett Holiday Cottages are located on the very edge of Bodmin Moor in the River Fowey Valley, within easy reach of both the A38 and A30, making us a fantastic base to explore the many attractions that Cornwall has to offer.
Local Area
We are surrounded by stunning countryside within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty which has a Dark Sky accreditation. The beautiful sandy beaches of the north and south coasts are both an easy drive away. Click here for Dog Friendly beaches.
The award winning village of St Neot is a short drive away (or walk on a sunny day) & has a vibrant family & dog friendly pub, The London Inn and a village shop.
The local town of Liskeard is a short drive away with a wide range of shops including Morrisons and Aldi supermarkets, a main line railway station, plus a variety of pubs, cafés & restaurants. Bodmin, Wadebridge & Looe are all easily accessed by car.
Bodmin Moor
With Bodmin Moor on our doorstep, we are spoilt for choice for lovely moorland and country walks. Just by the cottages is the Two Valleys Walk along the River Fowey and over farmland, open moorland and forest.
Golitha Falls
Less than a mile away is Golitha Falls where the river rushes through a steeply sided wooded valley in a series of spectacular cascades - one of our favourite walks.
Mining Heritage
The moorland village of Minions is also a popular destination for walkers. Here you can explore the Hurlers Stone Circles, dating back around 4000 years (pictured above), the iconic Cheesewring and mining engine houses, chimney stacks and other relics of the Caradon Mining District that form part of an UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The I Walk Cornwall website has lots more information for walkers. Four legged friends might also be interested in looking at Dog Walks in Cornwall
