Winter Magic at Heligan's Night Garden

A visit to the Lost Gardens of Heligan is another top favourite to truly get into that Cornish Christmas spirit. As dusk begins to fall, these fantastic gardens are transformed into a magical, nature inspired, winter wonderland, with stunning illuminated trails weaving their way through the wooded gardens.

Children will enjoy searching out twinkling paths of colourful festive displays, woodland animals, discretely lit flora & fauna, plus sparkly strings of brilliant white lights. The ‘oldies’ can follow behind at a slower pace anticipating the many offerings of delicious seasonal treats, roasted marshmallows & of course a well-earned glass (or two) of something warming to help them on their way! The perfect excuse to pause, admire the surroundings & soak up the atmosphere. After all, every Christmas walk deserves a reward... & I'm pretty sure those extra calories don't really count during the holiday season!

Before leaving this spectacular display of lights, why not pay a visit to Heligan's superb gift shop? It's just the place to pick up an individual Christmas decoration, locally produced treat or that last minute stocking filler, whilst of course indulging in a little treat or two ... for yourself!

It's a truly festive outing for everyone to enjoy, creating special memories of treasured family time to look back on in later years, whether you're entranced by the amazing light displays, sharing giggles at the children's antics, or simply enjoying the fresh Cornish air wrapped up warm & cosy together in the depths of a truly Cornish Winter.

Waves, Wellies & Winter Adventures in Cornwall!

Nothing beats gathering the whole family together & wrapping up warm in cosy layers - perfect for putting those stocking filler bobble hats, scarves & gloves to the test .. before heading out to one of Cornwall's gorgeous wide sandy beaches (of which there are many not so far from Badgers) for a bit of winter strolling - fantastic for getting a dose of fresh sea air whilst blowing those festive cobwebs away!

Polzeath is one of our favourite locations for a winter stroll. The wide sandy beach provides plenty of space for the kids to run & splash, whilst exploring those oh so exciting rock pools! The stunning coastal views make it just as enjoyable for the oldies too! On a crisp sunny winter's day, there's nothing better than a walk along the beach, followed by a delicious hot drink in one of the many nearby cafes & pop ups.

Looe also has fantastic festive vibes during the winter months. Take an amble around the pretty harbour & out along Banjo pier to spy the colourful fishing boats busily coming & going. Whilst you're there, it would be rude not to explore the windy narrow streets packed with many charming individual shops & cafés. It's a relaxed family outing, simply perfect for combining scenic coastal strolls with leisurely lunches or a hot chocolate & delicious, locally produced, cake stop!
